• Ensure your hives have ample carbohydrate supplies (honey and/or winter supplements).

• Lift up on the back of your hives to check weight for honey stores.  If they feel light, feed winter supplements immediately.

• December is a good time to medicate for varroa. Use Hopguard or OAV (oxalic acid vaporization).

• Continue honeybee education, inventory supplies, and prepare for spring.

November Checklist

  • Remove sugar water feeders around the beginning of November
  • Stop feeding pollen patties
  • Start winter supplement feeding
  • Place inner covers on
  • During days above 40 degrees or more, until the first of February, check for candy board, fondant, winter supplemental feed, etc. replacement.
